Terry Sherwood, Treasurer
Terry has been a full-time resident of Girdwood for 10 years and previous to that a part-time resident for 15 years. She is a retired Anchorage School District teacher, and taught her last 5 years teaching grades 5/6 in Girdwood. Terry has also worked for Alyeska Ski Club as the race and program administrator. In this position, she worked with the 500 members and their families in the various Alyeska Ski Club programs and did the bookkeeping for GVSEF, their nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation. Terry brings many years of BOD, fund-raising and grant writing experience to the board. She currently chairs the Girdwood Chapel Pastor Parish Committee and is a member of their Steering Committee. Girdwood Health Clinic is her primary health care provider.  (Expertise – education & nonprofits)

Kathy Trautner, Director
Kathy was raised in Fairbanks, but moved to Girdwood 31 years ago and is a patient of the Girdwood Health Clinic. After working as a Registered Nurse at Providence Hospital for nearly 30 years, Kathy retired in 2006. During her tenure at Providence Kathy was involved with patient and staff education. Kathy was a nursing supervisor for 10 years and continues to be involved in nursing, volunteering at Alaska Health Fairs. She is also active in the International Association of Lions and is the current president of the local “Turnagain Arm Lions Club.” Kathy also volunteers at annual fundraisers for many Girdwood non-profit organizations.  (Expertise-health education & fundraising)

Pat Preis, Director
Pat is a 38 year resident of Girdwood. He worked in remote site air transportation and logistics for seven years. Following that Pat worked in materials management and purchasing both at remote sites and in Anchorage. He retired from the Purchasing Department of the Anchorage School District (ASD) in 2007. Since retirement Pat has enjoyed volunteering in the Girdwood kindergarten classroom and coaching indoor and outdoor youth soccer. Pat is currently a member of the ASD Capital Improvement Advisory Committee and is a volunteer on the Alyeska Snow Classic committee of the Four Valleys Community School.  (Expertise: business)

Cleary Donovan, Director

Cleary worked as an Intensive Care Nurse, a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and finally as a doctoral level Clinical Psychologist. She worked in a group practice, specializing in work with child and adult survivors of trauma, and taught for over 10 years at Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, NH.  Since moving to Alaska, she has worked with various agencies providing therapy for adults and children with severe mental or developmental disabilities. At age 60, she joined the Peace Corps and served 2 years in Azerbaijan. Upon returning to Alaska, she worked at Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center providing mental health care and wellness service within a primary care setting. She eventually retired related to health issues. She has been a patient of The Girdwood Health Clinic for over 15 years and has appreciated the genuine caring and professionalism of the staff.  (Expertise: integration of mental health services and primary care, providing quality health care for underserved populations)

Lou Theiss, President

Lou has lived in Girdwood since 1979. He has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and is retired from Local 879 H.E.R.E., after many years working for Doyon-Universal and Nana Management Services. Lou has held volunteer positions with the Anchorage School District, Municipality of Anchorage, Chugach Electric Association and School Bonds YES. Lou and family have had their healthcare managed by the Girdwood Health Clinic for many years and believe that locally available, quality healthcare is important to Girdwood and the Turnagain Arm area.  (Expertise – grants & communications)

Camilla Seifert, Vice-President

Camilla has lived in Girdwood since 1975. She recently retired from Anchorage Public Libraries, having worked at the local library for many years. Camilla also was office manager for Glacier Valley Construction, her husband’s business in Girdwood for 30 years. Her past volunteer efforts include the board of Four Valleys Community School, PTA, Summer Playground, and her children’s classrooms at Girdwood Elementary School. Currently she is a member of Girdwood Community Room and Library Boosters and a volunteer instructor for AARP’s driver safety program. She and her husband are patients at the Girdwood Health Clinic. Having raised their daughters in Girdwood when there was no local health care, they understand the value of the Clinic to the Turnagain Arm communities.  (Expertise – business & fundraising)
